The SIM rivet or U-type rivet is also known as a dummy screw.

This one-piece rivet consists of a body with a helical thread, which deforms the support into which it is inserted.
The round head remains visible, allowing relatively thin parts to be fastened to any support.

This SIM rivet is force-fitted into a hole either with a hammer or a press.

The main application for this rivet is to fasten identification or marking plates on industrial products (valves, fittings, etc.).
